Total Horse crap!

I am a dog owner who loves walking her dogs reguarly. Its not the most pleasant experience but im also happy to pick up their poo. But I hate that i am expected to pick it up when horse riders use the footpath in the area to ride their horses, and they dont pick up or even attempt to move their huge mounds of horse crap. I shouldn’t have to step off the footpath becasue of this.

Lift your game and think of other horse riders!

    Here here.

I once had the gall to suggest to a horse rider that when they pick up their droppings, i will pick up mine…

The other thing, unless these droppings are going into the waterways, and are not left on footpaths etc, then as does the horse dropping, so does dog dropping go back into the ground as in manure / fertiliser.

:) Good on you! It’s great that someone out there is considerate enough to pick up after their dog.

It’s a lot harder for a rider of a horse to pick up after their horse, however, there is a solution… the horse-and-carriage horses in the city wear nappies/poo catchers of some kind, which solves the problem (and, if the rider is smart enough, can turn a pretty penny, as people pay for horse manure!) Maybe horse riders who just leave the droppings lying on the footpath should be reported to the pollution hotline; after all, it is pollution.

Our local council has an on the spot fine of $350 if you are caught with your dog doing their poo and not attemtping to pick it up. I wonder if they can bring a fine in for horse owners? Perhaps they should pay a $700 fine!

Yeah, but horse poo is way less offensive than dog poo - I mean horses eat hay and grass.

Yes I’m sure you do young Shadow, but the point is that dog poo is only second to Human poo in it’s offensiveness due to our diets, whereas a horse’s poo has barely any smell due to it’s diet, dissappears after a couple of days in the sun or rain and by and large is not too bad for the area it is dropped in.

I’m sure you do young Shadow, so do I. The point is however, that dog poo is only second to human poo in it’s offensiveness due to our diets. Whereas a horse’s poo has barely any smell, due to it’s diet. It doesn’t stick to your shoes and get trapsed all through your car or home in the way dog poo does. It breaks down in sunshine or rain in a few days, unlike dog poo and by and large is pretty good for the area it is dropped in.

Sorry about the double post, got distracted at the crucial moment and thought I hadn’t submitted the first one so I re-wrote with improvements.
